We had an great meeting on Sunday at the new meeting place and time. We had 12 people show up. I would like to personally thank the chapter members that attended our meeting. A chapter picinic is still in the works for sometime in August. We will be looking into Token Creek, Goodland and Lake Farm County Parks as possible picinic spots. We are collecting cans to generate money for the chapter. If you would like to donate your cans contact John Lynch or Larry Hauger and they will let you know where to drop them or arrange pickup.

Commander Phil Vallejos, Service Officer Larry Hauger, Past Commander Paul Washington and myself attended the State DAV convention this past weekend in Green Bay. The chapter was presented with its 75 th anniversary plaque. This was my first convention. All went pretty well, 26 resolutions were submitted to the convention this year. I believe about 22 were passed. New State officers were elected. Click here to see our state officers. It was interesting to see how the organization works at the state level. Met many people and learned some new ideas to bring back to help make the chapter more active and fun. I hope everyone will consider coming to the next chapter meeting in July. Please note the new place and time for our meetings on the home page. If you need a ride to the meeting, contact any of the officers and we will do our best to arrange transportation. We are trying to put together a summer picinic. If you have any suggestions, let me know.

Correction for the first entry already. Meetings are currently the second Wednesday of each month which makes the next meeting June 14th. We are looking at the possibility of changing the meeting to a Sunday afternoon and possibly the meeting place. Check back for updates.
